Update!

September’s test screening at The College of New Jersey went very well. The film was shown to an audience of about 20 students. The overall consensus was that they could relate to the characters, the dialogue felt real, and (most importantly) the actors were believable as high school kids. ) But seriously, they liked it. And, in the case of the missing scene, I just inserted title cards to convey the lost info, which highly amused the viewers but apparently worked well.

My goal is to have an LA screening in Feb/Mar. Other than the missing scene, most of the post work that still needs to be done is the standard technical stuff. But, as it stands, it’s a highly watchable motion picture that’s already touched hearts of those who have seen it.

Meanwhile, several cast members have been generating buzz across the internet for themselves in other projects. Erica Rhodes has been hailed a comic genius, Heleya de Barros both produced and starred in a webseries that’s garnered a lot of positive attention, and Ben Whitehair let me pick his brain about internet marketing (I hear he’s been working regularly, too).

Greetings!  After production wrapped, I fell into a “hiatus” which didn’t feel like a real hiatus, because I still had to go to work or whatever at some other job.  But, things are rolling again on Javatown and this is a (very) rough cut of a scene from the film.  (There’s also a temp track underneath it which will not be used in the final cut.)

WRAPPED

As of Tuesday, March 23, Javatown officially wrapped principal photography.  We shot 100 pages over an 8 day schedule.  That’s… kind of pretty damn awesome.  And it was possible because the talent involved was always on their game.

I will have more details and stills from the second half of the shoot posted as quickly as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this production, so far.  You all are fabulous.
